Study on .be Dropcatching

According to a recent study carried out by the .be registry dns.be dropcatching under the TLD .be is increasing rapidly. Dropcatching is the re-registering of an expired domain immediately after that domain name becomes available for registration again. The amount of dropcatching rose from under 5 per cent of all expired domains in 2009 and 2010 to over 10 per cent in 2011. » read more

Top-level-domain .SU now DNSSEC signed

The TLD .SU is now signed with DNSSEC. Currently, about 90,000 second-level domain names are registered under .SU. The Internet Technical Center (ITC) plans to sign the Cyrillic IDN TLD meaning .RF (Russian Federation) and the .RU TLD with DNSSEC next year. ITC was co-founded by the .RU registry and the .SU registry in 2009 to provide technical domain registration and management services. » read more

DENIC must delete .de domain names in case of a clear abuse

The German Federal Court of Justice yesterday decided, that the .de registry DENIC must delete misused domains. In case DENIC receives a hint for an infringement, they must delete the domain “if the infringement is obvious and easily identifiable for them”. » read more
