BrandShelter protects your brands under the new gTLDs and supports easy and secure document handling with the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH).
With the introduction of numerous new generic top level domains (gTLDs), trademark owners face new challenges. Companies and individuals are able to protect their trademarks with the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH). The TMCH verifies your trademark information and protects your rights as trademark holder.
TMCH registration is required for eligibility to participate in the Sunrise period of new gTLDs. Without a TMCH registration, the holder of a trademark will be required to wait until the Sunrise phase ends, drastically increasing the risk that the domain will be registered by a third-party. Don’t wait: Get the earliest access that new gTLDs can offer!
Also, every TMCH registration includes active monitoring. Get notified in the case that a domain with your trademark is registered. Be aware of who is using your name.
BrandShelter customers can send registration data and documents through our customer portal. You can comfortably enter your data and safely upload the required documents.
Brand validation by the TMCH provides two primary benefits: qualifying for participation in the Sunrise periods of new gTLDs, and the use of the Trademark Claims Service.
Registries for TLDs with open domain registration will give brand owners the opportunity to register their trademarks and brands after a Sunrise period of at least 30 days, during which TMCH registration is required.
With the Trademark Claims Service, information will be sent to the TMCH registrant and trademark owner whenever an attempt is made to register a domain with a corresponding TMCH registration any time during the minimum 90-day Trademark Claims Notification Period (which at this point, has been extended indefinitely).
*The Sunrise phase is a preferred registration phase for brand owners.
